The Pelikan Hub is a community-organised pen-meetup happening on the same day around the world – held on SEP 25th this year (2026)
⚠️ Important note – in previous years, registered attendees got a free bottle of ink;
Pelikan is not giving an ink bottle to all attendees this year.
there are other gifts: notepad, stickers, postcard, discount for Pyrite products (ink,pen,gift-set)
Where: Redfern Town Hall
When: 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm – 25th SEP.
(you don’t have to attend for the whole time, give-away happening at 6:30)
I’ve gotten us an extra bottle of Pyrite to cotton-bud-swatch on the night, there are 6X bottles in a raffle below ($5 an entry) to fund-raise for the venue-hire/insurance (sent by Pelikan)

Who is Ben-Pushka??
I was at the 2nd ever FPA meetup in 2015, I’ve loved dip-pens/fountain-pens and vintage-type stuff since I was a small child (anyone ever been to old-Sydney-town before it closed and became a film-studio?) in 2014 my sister started using a Lamy Safari for every day writing, and I was inspired to do the same, and love the colours, waterproof inks and smoothness of writing cursive (which I decided to finally actually learn that year)
I’ve been to a lot of pen-events in the past but never organised one before – things were a bit last minute this year, but it’s all coming together~!
What to bring
Bring pens and paper and stationary of any kind (you don’t need to own any Pelikan products to attend, and don’t need to bring anything)
Feel free to look at everyone’s amazing collections, but ask if you want to try out anything.
Watch your things – this is (effectively) a meetup open to the public in an enclosed but public space – please keep an eye on your things
Optional – Bring Tea – the industrial kitchen has a zip-hot-water tap – feel free to bring a tea pot, some cups and some tea
Food/Drinks – feel free to organise amongst yourselves to get food before/ after – you can chat in this event’s discord page, link above
Ink spills – there will be water buckets and glasses for cleaning spills and cleaning pens, please be careful and clean spills asap

PARKING NEARBY?
There is time limited parking (usually 2H), it is walking distance from public transport,
(8 minute walk from Redfern station or 15 minute walk from Waterloo metro station)
There is an unlimited free parking area here, but there are limited spaces:
- I chose “CBD” , “Olympic Park” , “Paramatta” – why is the event in Redfern?
- When gathering attendee and hub-master lists, Pelikan auto-generated 3 options for Sydney, SYD, Syd-CBD and Syd-Homebush, I thought that there would be a large Hub in the CBD, and I could run a 2nd smaller one in Parra (like happens with FPA meetups), but I was the only hub-master so I just tried to find any venue that would fit 150 people
- Can I arrive early / stay late
- If you want to help set up chairs and tables, the booking is from 5pm – 10pm, but the main event will be from 5.30 – 9.30, give-away at 6.30
- How will the give-away be conducted?
- There will be a projector and XLS sheet with entrants, with numbers next to their name, I’ll go to google.com and type random number generator and pick winners, removing them from the list after winning (can’t pick same number twice, unless there are more prizes than people, if there are 6 ink bottles and 4 people in the running, each person will get 1 bottle, and raffle off the rest) – you can buy multiple raffle tickets, each ticket has equal chance of winning, if not at the event you will be notified by email used for purchase and the bottle(s) will be gotten to you, FPA meetup, or meet at Town Hall building business hours Tues,Wed,Fridays – contact pen@pushka.com for more info or if any issues arise
- Can I bring food/drink to the meet?
- People will be bringing pens and paper, and there are between 100-150 attendees, there won’t a lot of room for food.
Feel free to get food in the area before/after or during the event, you can come and go – bring tea/cups/pots there’s a zip tap with hot water (Don’t bring alcohol – again organise something after the meet, we don’t have the license)
